aivi and i scored the middle segment of this, directed by rebecca sugar and ian JQ. the idea of this project was to have 3 segments (directed by pendleton ward, ian/rebecca, and patrick mchale), without knowing what the others were doing–like the party game “exquisite corpse” (this is also how the main character’s designs were made). it surprisingly works REALLY well, and it’s so artistic and interesting, so i’m glad it has been posted so everybody can check it out! big student film/final project vibes on this one in the best way.
working with jeff liu on the music was also really fun (he wrote the big song at the center of the bit, while we did all the surrounding score). it was a bit of a reunion of some of the steven universe music team!
the documentary is also very interesting, especially since we were so siloed off from the production. definitely stick around for that!
