the past 2 years, infloresce records, aivi’s digital fusion label, has organized a big end of the year virtual festival, where everybody from the digital fusion scene (and beyond) submits/is invited to submit one song made or released in the past year. the songs are sorted into thematic blocks and we all marvel at the amazing music made by this fantastic community.
this year, i was more involved in organizing the event (normally i just vote on submissions and help decide the track placement). this was really fun! other folks on the snowdrop team came up with the idea of doing a planetarium this year, and then i came up with a concept for each planet. most of them have some grounding in a real phenomenon, so if you’re into planets and/or geology, you you’re in for a treat!
we recruited several incredible artists (paper aviator for the poster seen above, louie zong on 3d duty, and erica, xin, beem & ditaamy on backgrounds). miles did animation on each background as well as the general overlay, and the result is so cool! i can’t wait for everybody to see it.
the event will be livestreamed on infloresce’s twitch channel december 14th, starting at 1pm PT (and if you can’t make that, don’t worry, it’ll be uploaded to youtube after the fact). i hope I’ll see many of you there, whether you’re familiar with the digital fusion community or not, it’s always a total blast to punctuate the year with! ?
