after a pretty extended hiatus, psyqui makes a marvellous comeback with three great tracks that i’ve been playing on loop, starting with “why don’t you”, a big beat track of all things–however he followed it up with two tracks that are more in his typical wheelhouse: hyperactive complextro picopop future stuff. with disco string stabs.
i’m a big fan of his use of silence and minimal drops (the one at 1:30 on “shaker” is so gutsy, i’m in love with it). one of the best to do it IMO, and the fact that these all have the same artwork makes me hopeful for an imminent album or EP release!
(also, how DOES he find these vocal samples?? the original songs are so bad… lol)
