DEZOLVE is a rare new j-fusion band (in such lineage as YMO, t-square and casiopea), with a fresh approach that leans into the athletic side of things. their drummer is a particular highlight and one i featured before on my “drum fusion” playlist (twice!)–a virtuoso and energetic drummer that gives every DEZOLVE track a ton of energy without becoming overwhelming (he also writes some of the more rhythmically complex tracks).
anyway, they released their latest album, asterism, just a few days ago, and it is probably their best yet, just an incredible (and incredibly long) journey, a joy from start to finish. definitely check out the whole album, you won’t regret it–but for a taste, check out the above, a lovely studio live of one of the tracks.
