so for the last several weeks meta has not been fingerprinting my song, “the penis (eek!)”, (which gets hundreds of thousands of plays daily) on their platforms. this means that i am missing out on their (frankly pitiful) payment on this song. i complained about this to my distributor, symphonic, and they said it’s because the song has “non-exclusive content […] for example if it contains content sourced from public beat pages such as BeatStars”. but, well… that’s not true, this is an entirely original song composed by me with no sampled material whatsoever.
upon informing symphonic and asking how this can be resolved, i got the above email, basically saying that “Meta’s decision is final” and there’s nothing i can do.
is this crazy or what? i guess meta decided paying me a pittance sucked and they just… made up a reason to stop paying me, called it “final”, and i guess i’m fucked?? i guess if it’s final that’s all good then??? what am i supposed to do, sue meta over this?
eat shit meta and symphonic, you both suck shit.
