last year, aivi & i released our sophomore album, “meanwhile“! since the blog was inactive at that time, i never wrote a post about it here, but i am very proud of the work we did.
this album was written in the very limited spare time we had in the 10 years after the black box, while managing steven universe, ikenfell, as well as our lives together as a couple.
our first album, “the black box”, was a flurry of creativity, with each of us trying to impress and show up one another, bouncing off each part energetically. by comparison, this album is an intricate dance, with each part complementing and completing the other’s, like a true duet.
we also included a PDF booklet with this release, which places each song on a timeline according to when it was started, and we each talk a bit about every track on this release. it seems that this flies under the rader a bit so i wanted to mention it! i included an example below if you’re curious what’s in it:
